The advantages of laser welding machines

2023-12-22

In fact, laser welding is the process of irradiating two parts of a material with a high-energy density laser beam, causing local heating and melting, and then cooling and solidifying them into one part. Compared with traditional welding processes, laser welding has the following advantages:

1. Non contact processing, no external force on welded parts

2. Laser energy is highly concentrated, with small thermal effects and thermal deformation

3. It can weld high melting point, refractory and refractory metals, such as titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, etc., and can achieve welding between different materials

4. The welding process has no pollution to the environment. It can be welded directly in the air with a simple process

5. Small welding points, narrow welds, neat and beautiful appearance, no need for treatment or simple processing technology after welding, uniform weld structure, few pores, and fewer defects, which can reduce and optimize the impurities of the base material. The mechanical strength of welds is usually higher than that of the base metal. The mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and electromagnetic performance of laser welding are superior to conventional welding methods

6. Laser can be precisely controlled, with small focusing spot, achieving high-precision positioning and precision machining

7. Easy to cooperate with computer numerical control systems, robotic arms, and robots to achieve automatic welding and improve production efficiency
